We do anything from monitoring of the natural world to construction and industry. There are many reasons people seek out a long term time-lapse of a project. From the demolition of an old building to the creation of a new one, time-lapse is one of the only ways to truly see the full scope from before to after.Investors and clients can peek in on a project and have the confidence and peace of mind that their investment is secure, as well as the satisfaction of seeing their money at work. A cellular network connection can upload and make these photos available in real time to a safe and secure online interface. Real-time monitoring is a value that can pay dividends.

Our cameras can run for day, months, or years
We know that every project is different. A compact site-monitoring camera and a six-month timelapse for National Geographic are going to have very different demands. Every rig is custom built for its intended use, because every project has different demands. These can run for days, months, even years. We program for intervals that deliver the footage you need in a way that best illustrates your progress.A typical application might be a photo every five minutes during daylight hours that will translate to a two to three minute finished video. Because we build each housing to spec, they can be highly customizable, and each one is weatherproof, solar-powered, and self-contained. We can add or subtract capabilities as needed for the intended duration, location, resolution needed, and all scaled to fit within the budget of your project.

Reliable Install and Monitoring
We do the install and monitoring of each project to ensure quality and reliability. This starts with a site visit to determine the best location that will give optimal lighting and effects. We can install on existing infrastructure such as light poles or buildings, or provide a guy-wired pole when nothing is available. The custom-built rig is then securely mounted and monitored throughout the project to ensure consistency and to pull the files periodically for upload, or we can add cell network capabilities to upload in real time if the client prefers. We are there to support your project through the duration and take action if something should happen, or if for some reason it needs to be moved.
Compiled and Delivered
We are an in-house studio that can do much more than just photography. In the end we compile
the still images along with a tailored package for your project needs. This could include
helicopter photos, drone footage, photos on the ground of both interior and exterior, all of which
are processed and edited. We can compile the footage into a compact video for marketing needs with motion-tracked graphics and branding messages all dialed in to keep everything dynamic.

How much does a time lapse cost?
A: Every situation is different and it’s very difficult to apply a general cost or rule to all cases. This is like saying “how much does a car cost?” It varies. Cost depends on your requirements, the duration, your timeline, and how much equipment we need to shoot your time lapse correctly. We have a set fee for installing the camera, and then a weekly fee for how long it will run. A: Nearly every time lapse we install is outdoors, so we build every housing to use solar charged large capacity battery packs. We don’t need external power supplies, and can run for months and months on the power the sun provides every day, rain or shine.We don’t have a location to mount the camera, can you make one?
A: Absolutely.We can affix the time lapse camera to any existing structure, pole, railing. We can also fabricate and install a temporary guy-wired pole to mount on.Can you shoot in 4K?
A: While we can master and finish content in UHD or DCI 4k, there is often no need to do so, and it just takes up more time, storage, and computing power to process. A vast majority of the content online and broadcast is 1080p HD or less. Our standard workflow is to shoot original content in 4k or higher, and edit and deliver in high bit-rate HD. This allows for more flexibility in post, makes your videos load faster online, and looks great on all devices. We are happy to work around your individual requirements if you need higher or lower resolution delivered content, because everyone’s needs are unique.
Can you also shoot aerial footage?
A: We specialize in high quality aerial footage! We work with both drones and helicopters, and as a result are able to achieve the results needed for each specific project. A: If you spec out a requirement to have photos available daily or weekly, we can build in a cellular connection that will upload photos on set intervals to the web. Otherwise, we typically have the camera record to a memory card and change it out occasionally.Will the camera be okay out in the rain?
A: Yes, all out time lapse housings are totally waterproof and do just fine in the heat or cold. Occasional rain on the lens port may be visible, but does not affect the end results.How long can a time lapse run for?
A: Anywhere from a few hours to many months or years. We use very reliable Canon camera bodies, redundant power supplies, and 4x safety factors in calculating solar power needs. Quality housings keep the camera and electronics dry and clean for very long term reliability. Typically the only limiting factor is memory storage, but even that can be avoided by uploading images to the web as they are acquired.
